Libyan Parliament Show Opposition to Israel Supporters
The Libyan parliament,of the eastern region of the country and associated with military leader Khalifa Haftar, has taken a stance against nations it perceives as supporting Israel during the ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza. The parliament's statement specifically targets the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy.
According to report, the opposition follows the parliament's frustration with the situation in Gaza and the Israeli airstrikes causing civilian casualties. Libyan authorities have labeled these events as "massacres" and are demanding an immediate withdrawal of ambassadors from countries they accuse of supporting Israel.
In the statement, the parliament also warned that unless these so-called "massacres" come to an end, it will push for a suspension of oil and gas exports to nations supporting Israel.
The parliament further criticized the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, accusing them of supporting Israel's actions in Gaza while simultaneously advocating for human rights and the self-determination of peoples.
